Dr. Riley was born on December 8, 1960 and raised in Aruba, Dutch West Indies. He entered Medical School at the Catholic University of Nijmegen, Netherlands, in 1979 and graduated with honors in 1986. Surgical training started at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis Hospital in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 1987 (Professor: Dr. W.F. Hoitsma) and in 1990, plastic surgery training commenced at the Free Academic University Hospital of Amsterdam (Professors: Prof. Dr. F.G. Bouman, Prof. Dr. J.J. Bloem and Prof. Dr. W.F. Mulder) where he graduated in 1994 as a Plastic-, Reconstructive- and Hand Surgeon. During his training, numerous courses were followed, including a course in rhinoplasty at Lausanne, Switzerland (Professor: Prof. Dr. R. Meyer), cosmetic plastic surgery at the Hague, Netherlands (Professor: Dr. J. Efting-Dijkstra) and cosmetic plastic surgery at Sao Paulo, Brazil (Professor: Dr. C. Fontana).
As of 1994, Dr. Riley opened his own practice in Aruba. In 1999, the Riley Surgery Center was opened featuring a state-of-the-art Surgical Suite. The clinic is two-yearly inspected by European based Dutch Medical Inspectors while the practice is inspected by professional colleagues from the Dutch Association of Plastic Surgery every 5 years. Dr. Riley is member of the Dutch Association of Plastic Surgery (www.nvpc.com), he is the Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Horacio Oduber Hospital in Aruba, former Chairman of the Aruban Association of Medical Specialists (VMSA) as well as being a former member on the Board of the Aruban General Insurance, the AZV. He also finds time to golf and boasts a single digit handicap. Dr. Riley shares his life with Helen and has two daughters, Amber (1998) and Jade (2000).
